It looks absolutely fine. The leaves are meant to be upright, not 'spread'. Presumably the pot has a drainage hole?

This is a pot I got from the family dollar in the summer months of 23 because the first was the water jug it came in but it has no drainage hole in this pot I'ma buy a new bigger pot next week I read that you aren't sopose to water a lot I don't really know I'm a beginner at this I have also a wondering jew plant peice my aunt had given me and it's now sprouted to have three different pots full

When you get a new pot make sure it has a drainage hole. It doesn't need to be bigger than the one it's in. And yes, don't over water.

Sanseveria does not mind small pots. It actally helps them stand. Ive had one for 25 years (and split and propogated many times) and the plant sits one figers with away from the edge. They just dont care about all the extra space. You could get a smaller plastic growers pot to go inside this pot? It will have drainage holes and you can set it on top of two or three small plates or a handful of rocks and the overflow will be caught by the blue pot. It wont go all over your carpet and you wont have to use a catch plate. This pot essentially becomes your catch plate.

As for water, the water needs of a plant depends on how much sun they get, how much they transporate (let out of the leaves), how big they are, etc etc. Some plants can be soaked, some plants need less. My suggestion is to put it in a sink and water it until water comes out the bottom and dont water again until you can stick you finger all the way into the soil and pull it out dry. That length of time is dependent on your climate. I live in Albuquerque where its is 0-10% humidity most of the time and I haven't watered this plant in two months but its probably time. I have divided this plant over the years to give some to friends and kids and the cut off leafs that you see near the bottom is where I used the leaf to teach my girlscouts how to propogate it.
