Diamond Cabinet Colors

Has anyone used the new Diamond cabinet color steam? It is described as a milky off white. I have a sample, it’s nice, just a little dark. I would love to see it on a larger scale, since no in store models use it and there are no examples online. Here is the door sample.

I as able to find this which I think is a mockup https://www.diamondatlowes.com/products/clarke/clarke-steam-and-kanga-kitchen

    and this

You could reach out to Diamond and see if their steam color is the same as Benjamin Moore Steam. It looks close.

Thank you so much! That’s a great idea. I forgot about Benjamin Moore throughout this.

Angela, I have the same question - and had to laugh because I, too, have the Maria Killam undertones chart and have been asking some of the same questions !! I was comparing my Steam cabinet sample to some of the Benjamin Moore whites, but don’t actually have a paint sample of the Steam. Would love to know if you’ve found any more specific info. Meantime, I think I’m going to bring the cabinet sample to the paint store to try and get it color matched. It’s a big commitment 😉

Hi Lori, I still haven’t found a full kitchen in Steam but I’ll share what i found. Steam is closest to Sherwin Williams Pearly White, Nuance, Origami, Ethereal White, and Valspar paint Wispy White. I have not found a Benjamin Moore match yet. I did have it color matched at Lowes and made a swatch, I’ll post it. I wanted off white kitchen cabinets and it seems Steam is more of a pale greige (w/a hint of green undertone). Although it reads off white in most of my kitchen except for one side, it reads more creamy and darker than I’d like. As of now I am choosing to go with this color because it does look nice in the room, despite it being darker than I was wanting. I hope this information helps, and if I order I will post pics eventually. :)

Steam next to SW Alabaster painted bookshelves

Steam in the middle of white Ikea Hemnes shelf

Steam next to Diamond White bathroom Vanity

Steam in one corner of my kitchen (creamy look)

Steam in the other corner of my kitchen

Paint Swatches left to right - Valspar Wispy White, SW Ethereal, SW Nuance, SW Origami, SW Pearly White. Steam in the middle.

The white board is making it look more creamy

Angela, this is so helpful, thank you !! What a chameleon color it is. I'd like to have a creamy bright white that doesn't go too yellow or too gray. I might be overthinking it but I'll have this kitchen for many years.

I received my Diamond cabinets, painted steam, today. I was told the color is a match for Sherwin Williams Spare White. This is what my rep at Lowe’s relayed to me from the Diamond rep that she works with. I have unboxed one and love the color. I am also laughing because I looked high and low for steam finish Diamond cabinets. ANYTHING out there to see what I was working with and found this. Today. The day my cabinets got delivered. 🤣🤣 I will post pictures when they are installed.

😂😂 its funny how things work sometimes. I end up going with something different because I couldnt commit. I wouldve loved to know spare white was a match, no one was able to tell me. Excited to see your kitchen 🤗

Here they are. Install starts tomorrow. I am going to find my sample of Spare White to see if what they said is true because I am not convinced. I will let you know!

Cabinets lines use their own proprietary industrial wood coating colors, developed for them. They do not use retail house paint lines.

It seems as though they do try to match very closely sometimes. Perhaps the rep should have stated the closest match is Sherwin Williams spare white.

Hi Jenny...Thanks so much for sharing! I am trying to figure out which Diamond cabinet color to pick also and was wondering about Steam. Our wood floor looks to be a similar shade as what you have. Do you think "in real life" the cabinets lean green or grey or more creamy? Also which Shaker cabinet style did you choose? I like the look in your pic. I was thinking of Jamestown.

I think they mean creamy. The style is Culver. Here they are installed. I love them. Wall color is SW gossamer veil.

I should add we are matching and refinishing our red oak floors. We will probably stain them Early American or Provincial by Minwax.

Thanks so much, Jenny. That helps! What are you doing for countertops?

    Nice!

Jenny, the color is gorgeous! I went with kraftmaid warm white, it’s a tad too yellow. I think steam is a great balance.

@Jenny Oliver, I'm coming into this thread late, but I'm about to commit to Steam colored cabinets for our kitchen. Where did you get the hood cover? Did you get it from Diamond, or did you have it painted locally? If the latter, what paint color (brand/name) did you use? I'm buidlinlg a production home with a developer. I do not like the only hood cover option the builder offers so am planning on having one purchased/built and painted in the same color as my Steam upper cabinets. Just curious as to where you got the hood cover. Thank you.

Angela, what did you end up choosing? Trying to decide between coconut, white, and steam. Thank you!

Sorry I am just seeing the hood question now. I got it with the cabinets through Lowe’s. Hopefully you were able to figure it out out!o

I ordered the steam color cabinets . Do you still love them? What color did you go with for the wall?
