Paint advice please!

Hi, we just got our ugly red brick fireplace covered with some lovely tile. We are torn because we really love our blue color that is painted throughout our house, open floor plan, tall ceilings, etc. I’m wondering if I need to up my sophistication level and go for a warm gray background Instead. Please weigh in even if you are not an expert. I have to tell my painter in 36 hours. Many thanks in advance!

    Try decorating/styling the mantle.

I don't see a reason for new paint - color is never accurate online but you didn't say anything about the color of the new tile not working with the existing wall color.

Also, going from dark red brick to what you have is dramatic. You might need a minute to acclimate to the new look.

I think your color is beautiful. Your fireplace looks great against it. If you love it, don't change it.

I was just watching decorating trends videos. Who knows if they're right, but supposedly greys are losing popularity, colors are regaining their appeal. So you're ahead of a trend. ;-)

I love the color! Have never been a fan of gray- feels sad to me. I would keep current color if you love it

Keep the color you have. There is enough gray and enough white in our world, its time, for rooms to become happy rooms again, rather than boring ones. The color you have looks greenish on my monitor, rather than bluish. It looks very nice.

I like the wall color you have so maybe save the money on the painter for something else to make you happy lie window covering a liitle nice than those vertical blinds . Maybe post some more pics of the whole space in comments here DO NOT start another post.

Love the fireplace. Do you have any "before" pictures? I've been contemplating covering ours but haven't bitten the bullet, so to say. And what kind of tile is that?

I'm not a gray fan either. Maybe just pop some color in mantel accents.

And agree with Patricia about the vertical blinds. Bye bye!

First, you are an angel to respond. That was just something that I put up during the holidays. The “default” are is in these next pictures, along with more info for perspective. I’m interested in all of your opinions; want to know more about what shape you recommend for art.❤️

I like the wall color too. For art over the FP, look for something taller. I have something 48" tall X 36" wide over mine. My living room is also two stories. What you have would be fine in a room with a standard height ceiling, but it gets lost in your room. You can use painters' tape to block out various sizes before you buy something if you're not sure how it's going to look.
