Will there be a TV in the room? Electric FP? Gas FP? Wall hung?

Yes there will be a TV in the room, probably wall hanging. Planning on installing a gas fireplace in the fall.

I have a LR in my 1956 MCM ranch thta is 15 x25 we have ahuge FP on one wall but we do not have TV in that space . We have 2 seating areas and have furniture we can move around for a change or for the Christmas tree etc. I would not spend the money on a gas FP iunless you really need it for heating . In the summer we arrange the furniture where 2 chairs are in front of the FP it just opens up the space for a differnt look We do not have the main entry in this space so IMO the first thing for you to do is create an actual entry maybe anice MCM divider by the door . Is taht a coat closet I see on the wall near the front door? Can you post a to scale floor plan of this space ? Show all the windows , doorways where those lead , every measurement clesrly marked . Use graph paper it makes to scale easier to do post here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post .

You won't be installing a gas fireplace unless you have a method of venting it & that looks like it would have to be through the roof & additionally, you'll have to take away space from an already small living room area. Are you prepared to do that?

Electric fireplace/consoles come in various decor styles if you don’t want to hardwire it

Depending on your lifestyle you may want to put DR and LR in front room and use the room at back of house for another purpose (i.e., enlarge kitchen, eat in kitchen, TV room, home office, playroom/family room, crafts, etc.)

Can we get a picture of the other corner of the room with your back to the front door.? We’re missing that corner in the pictures. They do have direct vent zero clearance fireplaces if you really do want to put a gas fireplace in the room. just make sure it won’t hinder the location of your TV / entertainment center. It’s good to make sure that you can put your TV in a location that makes it easy to view not high up over top of a fireplace.
