Change the art over the sofas to something larger and more colorful. The rectangular piece is hung too high. You can also group multiple pieces to get a more substantial effect.

^Agree. The art needs to be lowered so it connects with the sofa vs ”floating” above it. You could also add some color when you replace the rug (should be larger). Color can be brought in for the pillows from the art and/or rug. Maybe edit the number of pillows, or adding some with color/texture could be more interesting.

Your wall decor and TV are mounted too high.

I'd a least rearrange the pillows on the sectional to make it more interesting.

We might suggest looking at different pieces of artwork for over the sectional, and look at removing and getting some different colored pillows with different textures. Notice the different pillows, artwork, blankets, lamps, and rugs used in these recent designs of ours.

If cost is the reason for not changing out the rug then you might consider purchasing a larger cheap sisal rug and layering the two rugs so that it goes underneath the sectional.
