I would recommend getting furniture first then rug. Rug size is dependent on furniture layout.

@beverlyFLADeziner Note taken! I love some of what you chose! Would you consider a few more with your fabulous taste? Since I have and will have wood accents throw out, should I have a touch of brown in the couch rug as well?
And what would you do under dining table? What about a sisal? Current rug is a worn wool West Elm rug I must replace.
I am doing tropical blue in our study! And I’ll keep the palm accents to a minimum ;)

Can you provide a better image taken from a different angle so we can see more of the rug when it's under the seat?

The contrast of sisal or jute under the dining table makes sense for this room. If it were mine I'd install linen-like drapery panels to soften the appearance and help with the acoustics.

Yes linen curtains in the plan to softening solars too. Do I not need a touch of brown with the blue and ivory?
Ottoman is temporary until I figure out a coffee table, another challenge dependent on credenza whenever it shows up and couch configuration.
