How many windows? What type windows? What specs? Double or triple pane? Grid? Just windows or any doors included in that number? Be careful shopping for price only as you will end up with crap and in a climate like Colorado I would not use crap.

How many windows? What size? How thick is the glass and what is the construction? Lots of factors add up to .your quote. Is this for the windows and the installation? If so, get a quote from another contractor using the same windows and perhaps less expensive installation. Labor is expensive these days.

If the house has a lot of large windows that is going to drive the price up. This must not be an average subdivision home. The only answer is what Kendrah says, get another quote or two. Labor costs are very local. If any of your friends or neighbors have replaced their windows in the past couple years, ask them who they used. Sometimes contractors put out a high bid because they really don't want to do the work - maybe just because they're already very busy. If you keep trying and are flexible on the timing you will find something that suits you eventually.

As it applies to windows? You buy the best you can afford to buy. Or pay more and far worse with a do over in ten years or less. It's a bad place to economize.

Are they custom sizes? Using standard sizes can be cheaper.

Marvin Elevate is a great product. And worth every penny. Marvin Elevate Collection windows cost anywhere from $900 to $2000 per window. Water-Chic you must have some fabulous views in Colorado. And a plethora of windows to replace.

Marvin windows are fiberglass windows that have an excellent warranty. I think compared to Pella and Anderson, Marvin are outstanding if not better. When I was a young girl, Marvin made a custom window for my father. It was a strange triangular shape that opened out, two pieces for a mountain cabin loft.

Marvin

Ours was similar to this but two triangles to create one and open up for a peek at the mountains. No quare in the middle like the one below
