I think all of that is good advice but you want a new rug so lets deal with that . The drapes are okay as they are but wjat colors do you like the space right now is no color so the rug can drive the other choices . The lamps are too small the art is too small but we need some info as to colors you like or all you will get is a bunch of pics or rugs forever. To me right now the coffee table is not working at all in the space . So info please posted here in a comment DO NOT start another post.

Thank you for helping. This is my mother’s house and she wants a boho style rug with blues, oranges and maybe more colors. Not sure that will work. The tv table is mid century with an Asian flare. We have possibly found an Asian print to make pillow covers. I will try to post.

This is the fabric we may use … just unsure about a rug choice.

Also, would love thoughts on a coffee table.

First idea: A colorful abstract rug to enhance the sofa and coffee table using solid linen pillows or this "think outside the box" Diamond Quilt Pillow!

Second idea: A more serious style using a "William Morris" influenced rug with unique printed black pillows with coordinating solids.
