How about adding a bench or a couple of ottomans to the wall under the mirror. Then they can be pulled out and used for seating when there is more people.

I would remove the plant stand and center the console and TV on the wall. Is that a functioning vent on the lower wall?

I don't think the corner needs anything. Move the TV/console over a little bit. If you want to keep the mirror there, you might be able to fit a small bench without blocking the vent. Two consoles in that corner won't look good.

You said you want to keep TV cabinet & mirror & move plant stand & wish to add seating. I agree with moving plant stand, centering TV cabinet on its wall & leaving mirror. If the wall under the mirror seems too bare, a large floor plant like the one on top of plant stand would be a nice add for more greenery to room. The suggestion to jazz up the wall behind TV in stairs is a good one - I think hanging art is the easiest change up & would add interest. Or, maybe the mirror would work there? Can’t tell what it reflects now or would reflect from stair well wall. For seating - need to see more of what’s to right of sofa & rug - a wall or walkway or what? Seems like a smaller swivel chair would work on that side of sofa & give you ’real’ seating over a bench or ottomans. An unsolicited observation - the art over the sofa seems a tad too high - unless you are very tall. The rug is a great soft color add to the room.

I agree it’s too high even if you’re tall. If possible, move it down so it’s more connected to the sofa. It could also be larger, about 2/3 to 3/4 the sofa’s length.

Honestly, I'd get a longer console. the one you have is actually too small for that tv. (tv should be 2/3rds of the length. yours is about 7/8th) if you get a longer one, you won't need anything in the corner. (I'd say one plant in a tall planter, but thats a dark corner. not exactly a good spot for plants)

Center the tv and console on the stairs and lower the mirror a bit. That is all you need in this area.

That corner is way too full for my taste. (Hey, you asked.) Center the tv on the wall. Maybe get a longer console under it. Remove everything else. Done.

You might try removing what you have next to the TV currently, along with the mirror. Then just look at getting a tall plant to place next to the TV and console. Notice the tall plants in the pictures we've included here.

Why not just try centering the console on that wall with the TV over it and then you won't have room/need to place anything on either side of the TV. You might also consider moving the round mirror to another space.
