I agree with others. Some interesting artwork should work well above your mantel. I would try to find a piece that is taller to help fill up the space. Am not a fan of mirrors above a fireplace unless there is something interesting being reflected. That's a rule of thumb for me for any mirror that is used as a decorative piece.

Their art prints, designed by individual artists, come in all sizes. These palettes echo brown in fireplace, furnishings, and golden wood floors. In a closed in TV room, it's nice to choose art work that gives a sense of the outdoors.

Also, put some logs in your fireplace and by your fireplace so the firebox doesn't look like another TV but something more natural to look at. Put some birch logs in a basket and inside the firebox.

Allposters.com has a great selection. I got a 1932 Good Housekeeping cover from them for my kitchen and had it framed.

Better to place something that is more free-form inside a trapezoid space so all the corners don't fight.

Also you have downlights that rotate and are adjustable, They should be facing the wall not shining into the eyes of those seated in the room. Turn them correctly.

Or what Beverly said. Check Etsy and local art fairs for wall sculptures that might work in that space.

I like dgeonelli’s advice for the art to be ”not too busy”. I also think the room could look a bit cozier if you backed the shelves with this warm brown grasscloth peel and stick wallpaper. The styled shelved are from Sudio McGee. I thought the look would look beautiful in your room.
