The side by side TV and fireplace is probably the best you can do in this room (which is not bad!).

Put a nice piece of art over the fireplace, and a nice TV console under the TV.

Your floor is a nice neutral color. You can use any color of furniture you want, although medium brown might get lost.

First, move your sofa to be between the fireplace and tv, not so skewed toward the tv side of the room, get a cabinet for below the tv to ground it, and add a large piece of colorful artwork over the fireplace. Hard to tell what type of furniture without seeing the adjacent spaces and knowing the dimensions of the space. For sure get a larger rug to ground the room, a large coffee table, and probably two swivel chairs placed facing away from the windows. Based on the color of your floor on my monitor, I would opt for greens, yellows, rust, and golds.

You didn't mention new furnishings, but here is a layout for the room.

• A sectional might work great with this TV location.
• Not sure how you will get lamps into the seating area unless there are outlets in the floor
• You're going to need a MUCH LARGER AREA RUGS for this room. That's the first items I would try to pin down.
• IMO the TV is still mounted too high on the wall
• I agree, select some art for over the fireplace or a collection of objects and art for the mantel.

Here is mine, ignore the rest of the built-in and shelves, just look at having a console and TV to fit the nook space. My TV is a 75" Samsung The Frame TV with a 3" wood frame from DecoTV.

I pulled this color from your sofa, but you could add some color to the room as a backdrop for the TV,. Lower the mounting of the TV to the proper height and then add some decorative wall decor above on the wall. Like the art selection over the FP to the color you choose.

Get a proper console--all will be fine.

It will look better after you get all your furniture and accessories in. Right now it looks empty.

That image of Beverly's is the right direction, but I would eliminate everything over the TV and use a smaller artwork over the fireplace which maybe picks up the colors of your furniture.
