Are sconces needed there? My first inclination is no. My first thought is use a wall washer lighting fixture in the ceiling to highlight the wall and whatever is placed on it.

The electrician already has it set up for two sconces. Wish I would have asked this question earlier in the process. Thank you for your reply.

I agree there should have been wall washers instead of sconces, but if you stay with the sconces, they should be fairly large in size.
