front door help needed

hat type of doors would you put on this house?

The original plan was rectangle with arched glass ( like pictured but in a different colored stain) but we are not sure if that style of door will go with our style of house because of the ached glass and the straight lines of the house ( and they are higher price point so now we are second guessing.)

When complete the house will be white, bronze and copper accents .

Many thanks!

Your property looks very nice! Have you considered having a single door with sidelights? If you prefer the double door, I think the straight line version would be more in keeping with all the windows. Paint or stain the new entryway door and trim all the same color. Consider removing the tall shrubs on each side of entryway to open up the grandness of entry. Power wash the walkway, sidewalk and curb which is very unique!

Single door with two sidelites, 4 lites like you have pictured with a square top and matching sidelites. Use a 42" door. What type of door material are you looking at buying? What will be the bronze "accents"? What will be the copper "accents"?

And that is the same response I posted on your duplicate post found here: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6432513/front-entrance#n=3

IMO the arch on the doors is distracting and adds nothing to the appearance. I would select a door like the ones posted below.

my apologies about the multiple posts. I wasn't sure if it posted the first time around.

    • Bronze: Rain gutters, door hardware, window hardware
    • Cooper: Drip Caps
    • 72x80 door
    • Fiberglass

Our posts will be 10 inches PVC

Porch ceiling will might match the door color or be a color

If the ceiling on the porch is a dark color, you can be assured the adjacent rooms will also be darker. The light cannot bounce off the porch ceiling and enter the windows.

wow, thank you all so much! The picture with the door is so helpful!

Beverly, yikes, I didn't think of that either. THANK YOU

Would you do a wood stained door and a white roof? Here is a rendering that is not very accurate

Porch ceiling could be a faint (sky) blue or white. A thought.

I think the ceiling will be a light stain.

Do we match the ceiling color to the front door color ?

Sorry but I often comment on the first thing that strikes me and on your house it's the front porch columns. They are undersized and seem flimsy in comparison to the roof they are supporting.

    The columns will be 12" x 108

    Hi!

I went with a similar door that was suggested and I love it! Thank you! Now for lighting. I need to find lighting but I'm unsure what "style" the house is. The house is still unfinished, the porch isn't complete yet, the detailed brackets aren't done, the columns needed to be added, but I am at the stage where I need to pick interior and exterior lighting, deck boards, etc

What style house is this so I can narrow down my search for lighting?

    Thanks again!
