The only two I have are Gartendirektor Otto Linne and Belinda's Dream. Otto has a lot of vigor and makes a sturdy, branchy shrub about 5 or 6' x 5 or 6' in my climate, zone 7a, NC. It is blackspot resistant and reblooms but most of the bloom is in spring.

Reminds me a little of Pomponella.

I haven't grown Belinda's Dream in full sun. I think it seems to do a lot better in full sun. I think Hoovb on hmf has a great whole plant pic of it. Blooms are big and sumptuous but my plant in part shade dwindled away and got its share of bs.

Blooms have a nice depth to them.

It can do very well in the right location.

I think you will love Princess Charlene de Monaco. It does grow quite tall, but it also fills out quite nicely. The blooms are on long stems for cutting, if that’s of interest to you, and the scent is super. In my direct sun climate, the color fades to a pale pink/ apricot quite quickly.

Gartendirektor Otto Linne looks exactly like I hope it would. Is there more than one bush planted there? How long does it take to get to that size? Does it attract Japanese Beetles?

It is slotted for a rock bed in front of the house that is full sun and loads of room to spread out. I would love for it to get as tall as yours!

Belinda's Dream is under consideration for a partially shady spot along a walkway since helpmefind says it is not cane hardy and I would need something that stayed small there. Unfortunately partial shade so may only be a once bloomer there. As a result bush form/shape is important since it may just be greenery. Do you have any pics of the thorns?

Do you have any full bush pictures? I would love to see shape and form so it doesn't need to have alot of flowers on it in the pic. Princess Charlene De Monico would be in a new rock bed and I would want to leave enough space.

How old is your George Oliver? I picked it because it says zone 4 and it gets 6-8' tall and 4-6' wide. I was thinking of putting it in a rock bed in front of the house and I wanted to pick larger shrubs for that location. If it doesn't get big it wouldn't work where I was hoping to put it.

Does it attract Japanese Beetles? I was hoping to pick more resistant varieties so I don't have ragged looking bushes in front of the house.

Looks like a very fun list! I've grown several and can give you another zone 5 perspective.

Princess CdM was a bit of a diva for me and wouldn't overwinter own root. I have her coming grafted and would strongly recommend you buy her that way. Others in town have had luck with her grafted. If she's happy I've seen her get 4-5' tall and bushy.

Belinda's Dream is rock solid hardy often to the tips but does prefer sun. Her blooms look like Erasmus noted, and she stays modestly sized (3-4') in my climate in a cold spot of the yard. I grew her between houses on the east side of my yard in a fair bit of shade (a virtual zone 4) and she needed some time to regrow and bloom. In that spot you're right that she was more of a once-bloomer but she's so glorious she deserves a more sunny spot as I replant.

Belinda's Blush has been surprisingly finicky compared to how reliably hardy Belinda's Dream is. I have tried it 3 times so far and it hasn't even pretended to overwinter in a prime location. I should probably try it grafted but BD does fine own root so it shouldn't seem to matter.

G. Otto Linne would be getting replaced in my yard if he had looked anywhere as glorious as Erasmus' pictures, but mine didn't. It limped along for several years in part sun and bloomed now and then but frankly I had trouble finding him. He's supposed to be hardier than he was for me. Vineyard Song was a better bloomer in part sun, but if Northland ever restocks the hybrid musks Sigrid and Sven they blow any of the others out of the water for amazing visual impact and continuous rebloom, rock solid hardiness and general health.

I like Prairie Snowdrift and I'm replacing it. I grow it in part sun on the shaded north side of my house that is a cold spot and it laughs off the winter. It makes a good sized bush at least 4' well rounded, and reblooms pretty well. It's not the constant bloomer of the Ping LIm Snowdrift or the achingly beautiful cascades of white butterflies that is Morden Snowbeauty, but it's healthy and reliable.

I love the stripes and Pop Art is an absolute keeper for me. I only had it for 2 years before the RRD wave of destruction, so I can't comment on long term survival, but it overwintered an average cold season. So far it stayed small (no more than 3-4') but it rebloomed and bushed out well. I didn't have any problems particularly with blackspot on it, but I do recommend grafted.

I am replacing Enchanted Peace and absolutely recommend grafted in zone 5 for any of the Peace cultivars. With consistent snow cover you might be able to overwinter them to a decent size but I never could. They're lovely though and rebloom well with time. Needs full sun I think.

Party Hardy was in part sun for about 5 years and I can't recall many blooms if at all. I don't plan to replace it. The blooms weren't nice enough to give it prime real estate for more blooms.

I planted Hera's Song in part sun and it didn't overwinter that year but I can't say that's a habit. I might replace it but it's not a high priority.

I probably have some pictures but can't access them now. Just my reactions from my yard!

I've grown Belinda's Dream and Gartendirektor Otto Linne. The general consensus in the northeast about Belinda's Dream is that is needs HEAT. Otherwise, it just sits there and looks at you and does nothing. It might be worth trying grafted. Unless you routinely get heat waves of 100+, I can't imagine is doing anything in partial shade.

Gartendirektor Otto Linne is a decent shrub. I'd like it to be larger - 3 x 3 seems to be what it does here. Repeat isn't worth much, and it's notorious for being scentless.

Mmmm12CO, yes that's one plant of Otto and it's own root. I don't remember how long it took it to get that big but it grows fast and is vigorous, at least in my zone 7. It does get some winter cane damage so maybe it's not hardy enough for you ..I don't know. It doesn't amount to much damage here. It has no scent so is not bad with the Japanese beetles. Beetles like the fragrant ones best. Personally I don't need every rose to have a scent. It's nice when they do but I like some for other reasons.

I like George Oliva. Looked it up on hmf..there is a moving story behind it. I looked up Sven and Sigrid, Cynthia. Sven looks especially good. Wouldn't mind having one.

Felicia is another hybrid musk with a lot of vigor but it's very fragrant and would attract the beetles. Although I don't remember seeing that many on mine. If you want vigor, it's hard to beat Flamenco Rosita. I don't think it would be bad for beetles.

Mmmm, my George Olivia is a one year old so may get a lot larger.

George always looks healthy here. I cannot say about the Japanese beetle appeal, because we don't have them here. He is so cheery and happy looking.

Erasmus, Your right that the no scent may keep JBs away from Otto. He made my list because Matt at High Country Roses recommended him for the Denver area when I had admired the blooms at the green house. I didn't have a place for it at the time but I may this time.

mad_gallica, I don't remember asking about the final size so really appreciate your letting me know about the 3x3 in zone 5. I was hoping for bigger.

nippstress, so many good points since you have so many I am considering! I have added Vineyard Song to my list of ones to look at in person. I also looked up alot of your other suggestions. Appreciate the good feedback on Prairie Snowdrift.

Also that Belinda's Dream is hardy there. The comments on HMF that are older say it isn't but then the newer ones report very hardy. Might be plants from different sources. It is back on my list.
