Landscaping, sconces next to front door, and house numbers will help cut up the visual swath of orange. Planters with tall, full evergreen shrubs on the roof deck above the garage, especially where the rail meets the house will help bring your eye up to something other than orange on the second level of your house.

I think your house looks good. You need to up the landscaping. Add softer evergreens and variety. Add a Japanese Maple, too.

What kind of wood is it and what did you use on it? Are you willing to restain? You could look at semi transparent stain in a less orangey color - something with the slightest bit of gray or taupe in the color to neutralize the orange. I'm assuming you were going for something more like this?

I like the charcoal with the natural stain.

Yeah you’re spot on. That tone on the article you sent looks really good. So does the other photo. The issue is that we already sanded last year which was a LOT of work so I think we would have to do that unless we went with a darker color. The wood is a knotty pine tongue and groove carsiding. This is the stain we used. https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/products/families/woodscapes-exterior-house-stains The color was red cedar. We thought we liked it after doing a sample but then after doing it to the whole house it was too orange 🤦‍♂️

Give the wood time to fade a bit and you may get the colour you wanted in the first place. I feel the colour suites the house very well. You can distract from the house by doing some strip flower beds along the driveway in some cooler colours. Also some softer plantings in the front will also help. Do other things to distract from the boxiness instead of changing something that for now can't be changed.

agree ^^^ , also I think the stain looks good, and if you do some landscaping, which is needed, it will look even better.

Hi, Just an idea, Maybe use some 1x2 wood make a square. about 2x2 ft.. Make two for the broad space. Mount them like a diamond. Maybe paint them brown and the inside green. Then make smaller ones for different parts of your home. Rember this is just an idea.
