last year

Hello fellow daylily lovers!!!! spring is around the corner here in Michigan and I am wanting to do a daylily bed of Judy Davisson varieties. It is hard for me to prioritize which ones to buy. Can those of you that grow JD daylilies post pictures and give me recommendations?

thanks,

You are welcome. It is hard to see if you don't see pics that are actually growing in the garden. Entwined in the Vine is a very delicate lovely one.and it is a great grower. Judy Davisson does not photo shop her photos. What she posts is genuine.

Entwined in the Vine is an Emmerich, rather than a Davisson. I like it a lot, but it has a rather short bloom season. I think Kingdom Bound, one of its children, has a lot more buds and blooms for a longer time.

I don't think you can go wrong with any Davisson. Mine are mostly her older ones. The only one that's had a low bud count for me over the years is No Boys Allowed, and it has such a pretty bloom that I keep it anyway. I hope others will post their best performing and favorite Davissons. Many on this forum grow a lot of them.

Mister Mayor is probably my favorite Davisson. However it's not nearly as tall or well-budded as its registration stats here. Also, it's never rebloomed for me, although it has for others on this forum. It's a vigorous grower that multiplies quickly, and I love the colors.

Divas in Diamonds always has good bud counts and usually reblooms, if it gets enough moisture. It multiplies well.

MIss Demeanor in years with good rain can have 25 buds per scape. It's not as vigorous as Mean Green, but I like the color better. It's been a good rebloomer over the years.

Carolina Cool Down was my favorite Davisson for many years, mostly because I loved the color so much.

Miss Gold Gold Digger is a vigorous multiplier and has rebloomed here many years.

Reckless Girls has never been as tall as registered (usually less than 30 inches here), but it makes a fabulous clump.

Confessions of Hemaholic is another one that's several inches shorter than registered here. It performs very well though, and sets seed in the hottest temperatures.

We Are the Champions, a diploid, is a good late one.

Wow!!! so fabulous to see them blooming in clumps! thanks for the feedback. if i had the room i think i would have one of all her daylilies. Also if anyone would be interested in selling a division let me know. they r not easy to find with a lot either being s/o or held for increase.

Tina - I tried to message you, but you don't seem to have that feature enabled. I have a few Davissons, including some of the ones pictured, for sale this Spring.
