Yes, there are plenty. Our local parks have several.

I have a couple. The giganteums (aka wellingtonias) are not uncommon in my area - the local botanic garden planted a metasquoia glyptostroboides (Dawn Redwood) almost as soon as they had been 'discovered' (around 1947). Very beautiful elegant trees, often seen in the company of cedars (libani and atlas).

I grew mine from seed. I posted on here about the horrendous spray disaster (around2015) - the seedling sequoias were amongst the most painful casualties. I did manage to raise a replacement and also bought a metasequoia for my wood.

Not terrifically surprising that these trees would 'thrive' in the UK. The climate there is more similar to the tree's US Pacific coast native range than just about anywhere else I can think of. All three of the redwood species are common in gardens and parks on the western side of the coastal mountain ranges. My niece has several of each in her (very large) garden.

Not sempervirens so much. Maybe in Wales and Cornwall, but rarely in East Anglia.
