Colonial - What are these design "things" called? LOL

Hi! Can anyone tell me what that door next to the garage would be or why they put them there? Also, any idea what the floor plan of this house would look like? Most interested in what the staircase/front entry/foyer would look like since there is a window above the front door. Is the half moon window above the door also called a transom? I cant find any images with the long horizontal window and the half moon one above it. Any ideas on front door/sidelight/transome ideas? THANK YOU!!!

    Door next to the garage likely opens to the Mud Room. In this case it's the space between the house and the garage.


    The awkward assemble of doors and windows at the entrance is a door with sidelights, a transom window above and arched transom placed on top of that.


    This is NOT a one piece door unit. This has likely been assembled by combining a lot of different items, not very successfully IMO.

    Entry units can be ordered with door, sidelights and transom. It's that additional arched window that is an iffy addition.


    There are door assemblies with arched transoms also.
