Would it work to move the end table with the lamp to the other side of the couch? Then slide your couch to the left so it's not overlapping the loveseat. You could possibly bring it out from the wall a bit as well to get the layout to look more uniform. Of course this depends on if you can move the arm chair back as well.

Have you tried the two sofas facing each other and the large chair at the end of the coffee or gone altogether? Then you could add a nice tall piece like bookcases, armoire, display cabinet at that end. Adding drapery panels will fill in some of that corner.

Could you pull the sofa closer to the hallway - it doesn't matter if it is centered on the wall. It looks like the love seat is coming out into the sofa's space by about a foot.

What is on the right side of the window? If there is room, you could place a bookcase on either side of the window. Do I see pulls for a lamp or fan over the cocktail table?

It feels like the chair could go opposite from the sofa with the cocktail table turned to be parallel with the sofa. The lamp and end table need to be larger in scale to balance your furniture. If you add bookcases to the window wall, there should still be room for an end table/lamp on each end of the sofa. You will need another end table/lamp between the love seat and chair.

An area rug under the cocktail table would help define the area. What colors are you working with?

The idea from Focal Point to place the love seat across from the sofa, and remove the large chair from the setting would work too. Then, centered in front of the window place a [painted] cabinet or console table with a pair of armless slipper chairs on each side of the cabinet/table, etc. The cabinet /console table will come up into the window and that is ok.

I agree with decoenthusiast's idea of putting the sofas across from each other and the over stuffed chair in that spot, opening up a space for something else. While that'd make even more room on that wall, it wouldn't be awkward, but would be centered. I love the idea of an area rug to add more color, but you can also do that by changing the throw pillows on the sofa. a subtle change that will add a lot of depth to the room.

Another option would be to switch the chair and loveseat. Then angle the chair towards the couch/loveseat. You could put a side table next to the chair. There would still be an empty space to the right of the sofa that you could fill in with a bookcase and/or floor lamp.

You guys are amazing. I cannot tell you how long I have looked at that space and none of those ideas came up! I am adding a few more pictures.

Try centering your loveseat on the window. Then slide the couch down so that it doesn't overlap the loveseat. Then move the chair closer to the sofa and angle it toward the tv. It's so hard to tell without trying it!

So, I see your front door and tv cabinet on the wall opposite the sofa - right?
I like that the setting as you have it now is open in front of the tv - a welcoming arrangement as you come in the front door.

However, the love seat does not fit on the wall to the right of the window so could you try it opposite the window and then move the chair to the window wall, angling it towards the sofa/love exactly as kaymlee suggested above.

Now, if the traffic lane between the sofa and chair [as you have it now] must stay because it is a convenient way to get to the cocktail table area from the hallway, it might not work for you.
If that traffic lane is the best way to live in the space, leave it and concentrate on other ways to arrange your furniture in there. It can be done somehow!

Hang artwork above the sofa and on the wall between the window and door. Maybe put a tall, slim tree in the corner by the window & sofa if the bookcase idea isn't your cup of tea!. Turn the cocktail table parallel with the sofa - on an area rug.

I think the placement of the furniture is ok, but I would switch the chair and the love seat. I do think you need to add some color and texture to the space. I would suggest a tall slim green plant in the corner, some large artwork or a collage behind the couch. I would also suggest some drapes over the window with wood drapery hardware and rings. You can also add a tray for the table. I hope this helps!

Switch the love seat with the chair. OK--just noticed that Serenity said the same thing. Now I notice everyone's saying that. Try it and show pic.

You need to re-do the whole wall where the TV is. NO picture behind the door and no mirror over the TV. You don't need any of that on the wall with the TV.

If you hang pix they'll need to be much lower than the present mirror and picture are - centered 60" above the floor is usually good unless above furniture, then 5" is better.

-- Another thought that would give you a faux foyer would be to move the tv unit over to the wall with the sofa on it. Place a console table/mirror/buffet lamps where the tv is now.

Place the sofa across from the tv, leaving a 4'-5' entry path for the front door. Place the love seat across the window, and chair as shown. You could also think about changing the cocktail table for 2 or 3 storage cubes in leather or upholstered in a fun fabric.

This is a really rough drawing - sorry! - but writing it all down gets even more confusing . . .
Also, I am guessing at all of the dimensions. You may need to find a smaller chair. Arranging the space in this way defines the seating area. Deciding on furniture placement before investing in accessories is a good plan to work from.

First add full panels in a print. And color. on windows. Extend rod pass window by 6-8".do. See sheers on windows? If so remove replace with tan bamboo shade. Home Depot carries. Add a big round table 24" or bigger, not sure of size of space. in a light wood. Add a very big base lamp with drum shade in white. Base a accent color go bright. Over sofa a big 40x40 picture no frame. Hang 6" above top of sofa. Add some accent color pillows to mix. Accessorize coffee table . Add a mirror tray and add orchids . A big coffee table book.

In fact lose coffee table not working. Get a 24" round table, go glass. Add above items.

Get a much bigger lamp on other table go tall big base in a color white drum shade. Bed, bath n beyond carries nice ones as well as TJMax for almost everything, great price to.

Make sure you go bold and bright on art. Your room needs color way to much matchy matchy. Red base on one lamp and a gold on the other.

I know it's hard sometimes because of the cable but I would move the TV out of the entry. Try the sofa along the entry way to define the space?

I really like windows open in a room when they can be, and it looks like they can be in your room. Little kids like to go over and look outside and see what is going on. I like the couch opposite the tv, the loveseat facing the window and the chair taking up that space between the door and the window. Perfect!

I would not put the two pics on the side of the tv that way OR the mirror on top of the tv. I would find it very distracting while watching my favorite show. And the mirror seems like it would be tough to actually use there anyway. The two pics needs to be side by side or stacked on top of each other. How does the mirror fit over the couch? Can the two pics be stacked by the window?
