Put down rugs where you can.

By any chance, did you and the landlord do a walk-through inspection before you moved in? This would have identified any floor flaws that already existed prior to you tenancy.

@brentwoodbay we did yes and there were a lot of previous scratches and knicks but since the 2 years i’ve been here. It’s detoriated more so and failed. The owner also improperly himself installed concrete counter tops which failed and chipped. He refused the cost to replace them. The landlord (property management) came to inspect though and documented the countertops were absolutely not my fault. I’m just nervous they’re going to come collecting when I leave. I’m nervous I won’t be able to show one more failure in this house is not my fault or me damaging the property.

If you don't already, send all communication to owner and/or property management through e-mail, so that you have a record and a copy of all discussions, in case it is needed in the future. This protects you as a tenant. Take pictures of floor damage now, (even better if you have photos or a complete description of the damage when you moved in.)

It's the landlord's fault for using a cheap product.

As brentwoodbay noted: document everything. Even if (especially if) the landlord never repairs it. You will have some recourse to protect yourself.
