A Podocarpus, but I don’t know my species well. From web pictures, maybe Podocarpus matudae.

P. matudae seems like a good match, but that part of the UK is mild enough that I wouldn't rule out one of the South African Yellowwoods.

Podocarpus is a genus I am not familiar with. The only other spp I have come across is P. nivalis, from NZ.

I never realised a genus could be so cosmopolitan in distribution.

Considering the vast amount of time since the continents parted company, I am surprised that they are all still in the same genus.
