Thanks @wdccruise. Unfortunately that first one is 33” wide so too narrow. I did look at that other one but some of the reviews echoed my thoughts - more drawers, more problems and less freezer space. It just seems like a dumb idea to me.

We went with Kitchen-Aid, counter depth, french door because of SZ lead time. It has a great internal water dispenser. 4 years in and so far so good. Not a SZ but much better price point!

Yeah, I went with KA when we remodeled the kitchen in our last home - built-in 42" SxS. That was expensive enough. Unfortunately it didn't hold a candle to SZ - which I now have in one of my current homes. Design flaws prevented removal of the freezer drawers, things froze in the fridge and it helped me understand what is meant by "build quality". I'm replacing another KA fridge that has the same design flaw related to the drawers. I also bought a KA slide in range in the past - stainless finish started to corrode and same thing happened to a friend with the same range. Their KA fridge also malfunctioned right out of the shoot. So no more KA or any Whirlpool brands for me. Glad you are happy with yours - hopefully things have improved.

This model is true counter depth. Not integrated to fit inside a cabinet using matching cabinet doors.

Thanks @dan1888. Yes not integrated with cabinet panels, but still built-in like an SZ. It is a few thousand less expensive but I have no data on Miele refrigerators and don't know anyone who has one. My experience with a top of the line Miele dishwasher was underwhelming and I decided never again would I invest in a Miele product. It's worth considering though if I decide I'm willing to have my cabinetry reworked to fit a built-in.

Its performance wasn't good enough to earn a recommended rating from CR, but the Bosch B36CT80SNS meets your requirements and owners seem to like it. It does have "anti-fingerprint" stainless steel but that's increasingly difficult to avoid. It's also 27%* of the price of that Miele linked above.

I’ve done some more reading about how to clean these finishes. It sounds like the only safe thing is warm soapy water and a soft cloth - like dishwater and a cloth you only use on the fridge. No stainless cleaners and no sponges which can sometimes hold abrasives. So it kind of sounds like if you are really careful how you clean it you may not have problems. We are just two adults and my husband never wipes off anything in the kitchen so we might be safe. Just have to make sure the housecleaner doesn’t touch it. With all that said I may just go back to the original LG I was looking at.

We have a Fisher & Paykel counter depth in stainless. Ours has no door dispenser. It works great - it’s been 2+ years now.

@Lee M - thanks for that suggestion. I checked out FP and looks like they do have one that meets my requirements. I need to figure out how far the doors have to be opened to get the drawers out. I have an angled wall on one side that limits how far I can get the door open which prevents the drawers from coming out on the current fridge - they hit the inside edge of the door. Others I've looked at don't hit the door itself, just the door shelves so could be pulled all the way out with the door shelves removed or repositioned which would be fine. I'll have to find a place where I can see it in person.
