I suggest a large canvas for over the sofa with gemstone colors such as plum, cranberry, sapphire blue and possibly a round mirror. You could also hang a rug on the wall.

So you have a little one and you're going to spend $$$$ money on a wool rug that will be destroyed by juice boxes etc? IMO that's not the place to spend your money. Any of these machine-washable rugs would look great in your space and are 1/3 the cost of the rug you are considering.

@Beverly. Thank you for taking the time for the different rug suggestions but I actually got a fantastic deal on the rug at Home Goods for $270.

@Beverly - would love any suggestions you have for the walls, especially the large wall behind the sectional.

That is a great price - it still would worry me to use it in your living room. Also, it seems like adding some color would work better with your gray sectional.

I know that you asked about art for your walls - but you really need a longer (+ lower) console for your TV - then you need to hang your TV on the wall.

I think adding drapes (as suggested above) is a great idea!

amhers104, Art is very personal. Or should be. You don't want your room to look like a Home Goods display.

As far as size, look for something that is about 3/4 the length of the sofa. There is lots of info online about picking the correct size and hanging at the proper height (most people go too high).

Do you want color or something neutral?

Do you want something textured and abstract or something realistic?

Are you interested in a landscape - beach, desert, pond, field?

Are you interested in something fun or whimsical - a cow with a flower crown?

Go to Target, Home Goods, At Home, etc, and look around and find out what styles and subjects make you happy. Or look online, there are lots of great art sites.

Get some blank large canvases and put the kids to work making art for the walls.

It looks like a tall plant might work next to the new TV console, look at adding some C-tables since you don't have a coffee table, then look at adding some artwork above the one side of the sectional, and perhaps an arc lamp in the corner behind the sectional.
