This is Geranium sanguinium or a cultivar thereof. You don't say where you are located but March is early for these to bloom in many places. Where I am they start in June. They may have been artificially brought on and are now recuperating. Nothing is wrong imo. It doesn't need much care and is fairly drought tolerant. Unless you've had no rain at all since you planted them they didn't need watering other than when they were planted. And don't worry about the fact you watered overhead. How do you suppose they experience rain? You could clip them over with shears to remove the seed pods. Otherwise be patient.

Pretty soon you'll be pulling out all the seedlings.

Thanks floraluk and laceyvail. Floral, I'm in Hungary. They are near the street in a curb garden wtih bark as weed control. Are you saying that I really don't need to water them? The Summers here can be pretty hot, but so far this Spring has been mild. Supposedly we are at the edge of the Hungaran desert.(it doesn't have sand). It's a farming area.

Yes, laceyvail, I have heard that they spread. Maybe it was you or someone else last year or earlier this year who told me about geraniums. I remember seeing your comments and floraluk's.

Mine, on the other hand, sits and sulks getting no bigger and never seeding. It doesn't get enough sun imo.

I didn't intend to implied they NEVER need water. If you have prolonged drought they will need a bit. But they didn't need watering every day after planting.

Some of hardy getaniums dont bloom continuously.. in my 6A MA garden the macrorrizums & g. sanguineum are in bloom right now for 3 -4 weeks and then a smattering intermittently after that.

The only geranium I ever grew that really bloom almost continuously was Rozanne.

Mentioning Rozanne is stirring the pot.
