Surprise! My Dr Huey...

I had a rose that when it came back this year I just thought it was coming back. It was a Fun in The Sun. I actually moved it earlier in the season. It grew like gangbusters. But - uh oh - now the blossoms are a deep velvety red color. Like, "...that's not Fun In The Sun!" Took me about 30 seconds to figure out it was Dr Huey. I guess Fun in The Sun is "gone".

I don't want Dr. Huey... do I just through it out? A simple, "baby" question, indeed .... but I guess I feel like I need permission to throw away a rose I don't want.

I do all container planting now because of the uncontrollable situation with deer in our yard, otherwise I could just plop it in the ground somewhere. But, I don't want to give container care to a Dr. Huey.... and putting it the open garden would destine it to being eaten by deer.

Throw it out - right? (or... do deer not eat Dr. Huey....?)
