Cuddledown Down Comforter

last year

I want to replace my current down comforter.

I live in a warmish climate and so I don't need super warmth but I do keep my bedroom air conditioned/cool and so I enjoy the lightness and feel of down.

I do NOT use a cover because honestly it is difficult to put on - weighs down the quilt so it no longer feels weightless and generallly gets moved around in the cover.

I wash the quilt regularly which I realize shortens the life of the quilt but so be it.

Because I don't use a cover, I have always gotten colored down quilts. The Company Store has always carried them and they have been fine for me.

I want a specific color which Company Store doesn't have but I have found it on Cuddledown.

How is the actual quality of Cuddledown goose down quilts. I hate relying on internet reviews because they tend to be from disgruntled and also the bad reviews of Cuddledown seem to focus on the quality of customer service and not the actual quality of the quilts.

Also - within reason - price is no object as I am willing to spend a good amount to get what I need. Maybe not $3000 😂 but I am not price shopping specifically.

FWIW I had bought an absolutely gorgeous faux fur blanket but it is just too physically heavy to use as my blanket which is why I am back to seeking a colored (not white) goose down quilt.

Sorry, but I would do white. Put the faux fur folded at the FOOT OF THE BED AND REMOVE IT at night to a bench at the foot of your bed.

Add a very lightweight coverlet or quilt for over the white down comforter.

Pottery barn has warmth level duvet fill, cool to heavy in down and feather....I've had no issue with those, and washable.

But just a down in a color? Nah..............: )!

You want 600/700 fill power, regardless weight of warmth or color

I don't want to deal with a throw at the foot of my bed. It negates the ease of having just a down comforter.

I specifically said I don't want white so why did you bother to tell me to get white? 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

I have years of down quilt experience and so I don't need advice on fill or construction.

My question is ONLY the actual quality of Cuddledown or an alternative source of color goose down quilts. I know Garnet Hill has them but not in the color I want.

    You need a nap :)?

And you need to refrain from feeling the need to be insulting and not providing any useful information when someone has a specific question

It is posters like you who make this site less than a comfortable environment for many users but I have been here long enough to not be intimidated by your attempt to make a poster feel stupid

I know what I want and have a reason for that. If you don’t have specific information on Cuddledown or other similar colored down comforters, just don’t respond. Don’t tell me that i should get a white quilt or use a fur throw on my bed and fold it on a non existent bench 🤷‍♀️😂

Why don’t you take a nap and not waste time being unhelpful 😂😂

I do not have experience with Cuddledown comforters but with their sheets and pillow cases. If my experience is of use, just let me know. I don't want to be told to take a nap if I'm providing useless info. :)

I have a Cuddledown quilt - I would say it’s a medium weight. I use it all year long, with another quilt at the foot of the bed for cold nights. Washable and keeps its shape.
