Some will probably be successful. The hotter it is - 90s or above - a lot of tets won't set a pod. I've had success pollenating in the evening on hot days.

If the pollen gets wet, it is destroyed. Early in the morning when it rains, the anthers usually stay closed. If they open later when it is not raining, that pollen will be ok. I would never use pollen that has gotten wet even if it appears fluffly later.

It rained very early - anthers were closed when I checked but it didnt rain any more; when I checked later - they were open and pollen fluffy so I used it. So hoping it is ok. No terrible loss if it isnt.........but have some nice ones I would like to pollinate,. I have used, with success, those bendable at one end drinking straws, cut to about 3", and put them over the pollinated pistil if its about to rain. The straw bends, keeping it from getting wet. Works really well.
