advice for adding ONE kitchen cabinet wine fridge or entire make over?

Hello, I am renovating my kitchen to add a wine fridge and need advice on how to proceed to add it into the existing kitchen cabinetry. Here is what the space looks like where the extra cabinet/housing with wine fridge would go:

Here is the adjacent cabinet (please don't mind the cat. The cat is where the extra cabinet with wine fridge in question would be):

I really want to keep the existing cabinetry and not have to re-do the entire kitchen. I have approached two contractors to ask about this and they both have told me they want to redo my entire kitchen cabinets for $10-14k, not including new countertops. I'd like to only add ONE extra cabinet/housing SPACE for the wine fridge.

edit: what is the best look here? what will it cost approximately? is it going to cost as much as renovating an entire kitchen to add one more space for an in set wine fridge?

Probably not wise, nor will it look good.

You have two pictures and not the kitchen in entirety. You have no context.

A wine fridge does not NEED a "cabinet"

It butts to a cabinet, the counter extends over the top, and it needs a cabinet finish side. It's a "housing" , not a cabinet. As a very short refrigerator.

Basically? No. in your case.

If you don't want to renovate the entire kitchen, then just get a free-standing wine refrigerator. It's not going to look built-in, but it will serve the purpose.

If you want to use this as a reason to re-do the kitchen, then go for it! But make sure your layout is optimal for having the wine fridge, like having it as part of a beverage bar.

There's space as shown in the photo, she wants to add the fridge, she doesn't need to replace any of the cabinets.

Can you get a cabinet to match what you have even. Why not just get free standing bar fridge and put it there a tray on top to hold some bar type stuff and done . There are many that doe not even need a side to finish them they are meant to be free standing . You are making this complcated for looks only no better function at all.The other option is an actaul tall wine fridge they are finished on all sides an can easily go there .

Get a free standing fridge. You can leave it as is or perhaps you can find someone who can build a housing around it. It’s not built in, but it’s functional- which many people do.

Probably not a good idea to build a cabinet around a freestanding fridge. It may need venting which the housing could impede. A built-in unit would have the vent in the front.

I suggest you put freestanding wine fridge or beverage fridge, very practical and if you like to collect wine that will be a very good choice! I suggest you choose Ca'Lefort or Yeego refrigerator. Because they are full-featured and good looking! Have a great day!

Just get a freestanding ref to put there. No need to build in anything.
