I have seen the walk in tubs but didn’t realize they made freestanding tubs with a seat so I had to do online search…. I love my bath too and would really miss it. There was a time when I had difficulty standing up from a built in tub; I had a little assist by holding a towel hanging from nearby towel rod—not the best idea but it worked. Having a seat high enough to avoid problems lifting yourself to standing position in a tub, a tub that is not so deep that you would have difficulty lifting your leg over the edge of the tub seems like not much of a bath at all….most of your torso would be above the water. Highly recommend yoga or PT to increase all over strength if that is feasible . Beyond that I doubt a home bathtub could provide a safe and enjoyable experience when you don’t have leg or upper body strength. Beyond that are the walk-in tubs where you open the door, enter the tub, sit yourself down and then wait while the tub fills with water. Then you wait again while the tub empties to the point you can open the door to leave. Could work if you can grab a towel during the water fill and empty phase for comfort..

Take a look at Aquatica's Baby Boomer 2 freestanding walk in tub. They're crazy expensive and I hate the model name, but it looks amazing.

IMO a walk in is the answer Itoo love to have abath right now I can still get in and out of the tub but when the time comes I have already decided a good walk in will have to be it.
