modern lake house window dilemma!

We are renovating a lake house and replaced the lower window with a larger size but it does not seem balanced. The upper will get a new replacement but should the lower be longer? Is this balanced?? Suggestions please…before and after lower window replacement

Duplicate the window and align it with the one above.

Stain the house a color that blends with the tree trunks. NO white trim.

Wow! Thanks for this! You think the white trim is too stark? What color do you suggest?

Look at the lower contrast colors on the house Beverly posted. A green found in the forest with trim the color of bark. Doesn't have to be that exactly, but think about where your house lives and choose compatable colors.

The current window looks like you tried to match the window above but can’t operate a tape measure. Either match it exactly or make it very different- a triple casement that almost fills the wall for example. The trim isn’t an important enough detail on this house to warrant high contrast

what room is the lower window in? If a higher window is necessary to accommodate kitchen layout then do a longer window to balance the top. If no need to accommodate above, a taller wider window

Higher window is necessary to accommodate a kitchen layout, but it is possible to increase the lower window height by 4-6”.

I would be more concerned about the siding than the windows right now. It seems to be in pretty bad shape in places.

IMO those 2 windows need to match or be very different from eachother . I would do a very wide window in the kitchen maybe 3 wide for sure . The trim does not work and I agree the siding needs some work. Is the horizonatl ssiding in the bottom pic the new one ? The house looks like an 80S contemporary but the windows do not match that style . Either does the curvy trim on the porch. I need to see the kitchen plan please . I need a lot more info and you need to stop until you get this figured out both inside and out.. This style of home is usually best darker for siding

I don't think symmetry is necessary, but there should be some relationship/alignment between the two windows. I would advise NOT posting a kitchen plan, you will just be opening up a can of worms and get lots of unsolicited advice. But it would be helpful to know what's behind the lower window.

Behind the lower window will be the kitchen sink.

In that case I would definitely have more windows…as many as possible..as washing dishes is greatly enhanced with a view …and a kitchen with lots of natural light is always a plus
