I’m wanting to buy 2 of these Scotch Pine Pom Pom topiaries from a local nursery for my Asian garden. However, I wanted to get some insight on how to care for these.
First, the ones I am planning to purchase are perfect size at 5’ tall and 5’ wide. Is it possible to maintain these at this size with clipping or will they continue to grow wide and tall?
Second, what are the roots on these like? I will be planting near a brick path and some drainage pipes. Are these roots invasive?
Final question I have is about sawflies. I had a Mugo pine attacked by these nasty things. What’s a recommended preventative to spray these Pom poms with to keep the sawflies away? When do I use?
Thanks.
