Nowhere do I see a picture of a pink 'Deutschland'. Yours also looks shorter than it should be, though that may change in time. So I think yours came misidentified. It looks nice with the hydrangea though. Unless you wanted a white garden?

Thanks, gdinieontarioz5! I’m not aiming for an all white garden, but I was hoping what was supposed to be ”Deutschland” would bloom later in the season, after Annabelle’s blooms had faded to light green. That would’ve provided a nice pop of white in this semi-shady bed.

I do like the soft pink blooms of this no-id astilbe, it‘s just not what I had planned for, and you’re right, it is shorter than what Deutschland was supposed to be.

My Deutschlands are not pink, but Milk and Honey blooms very light pink and fades to cream/white. I planted them in my white en masse grouping and boy did they stick out. Very nice in a non-white area, though.

Deanna, thanks!! I looked up Milk and Honey and it’s a very pretty astilbe, and I love the height - I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one!! Alas, mine are so short - not more then 18” or so...I’m thinking maybe they’re Peach Blossom? Whatever they are, they’re pretty enough to keep and at least they bloom; my only other experience with astilbe was from the Visions series and they didn’t bloom well for me.
