The railings are fantastic. I replace my dining chandelier LED bulbs every year because they are on most of the time. Your hallway looks like it gets most of the light from the chandelier, so installing it at a height where you can reach it easily with your upstairs step ladder or step stool is a good choice.

Thank you both. The railings really dont match the eterior which is a french stone house with a turret, its an odd combination, I cant do hollywood with it and I cant do to much farmhouse, so its a combination of the 2. My budget is about 250, but if there is some sort of antique that could work Im ok with that to (I am in france so we have antiques everywhere but heavy bronze chandeliers are a dime a dozen - I have 3 in the basement so Ill look at the lighter one suggested!)

Please show photos of the three chandeliers in the basement. The house's situation in France is much different than I thought. The easy availability of old bronze chandeliers means you can choose one or two to have rewired by the local electrician, if necessary.

I would do a very simple flushmount fixture for the lower fixture and where you have the upstairs chandelier. Then when your budget allows, install a chandelier over the center of the staircase. Chandelier gets a spot that showcases it best, and you have better lighting at all the necessary locations.

I would keep the handrail in the bronze finish but blacken all the coppery elements. A limewash on the walls would be in keeping with the style. This apricot strie' is too campy if you are working to simplify the overall appearance.

If the chandelier you posted were in a soft white color, would you use it? There is nothing wrong with changing the color, unless you just hate the style.
