Seven years ago we bought a 5 panel track with wand control for our patio slider. The wand already broke once. When it breaks the panel hangs off the track. They ended up super gluing the wand because the company no longer makes the parts for this design. Well, it broke again. Didn't think it would hold forever.

So if I have to, I want to go with plantation shutters but I don't want the same thing to happen. I don't think I have to worry about a wand breaking off because it looks like we can just manually fold or slide the shutter panels. Has anybody had trouble with their plantation shutters coming of their tracks? It's a lot of money to spend!
