But your foliage and grass look nice and green, so you must have had some decent moisture. Tahiti Sweetie and Hell on Heels (from Nancy in Indiana?) are nice hot ones. I do grow TS here, but it has not jumped the gun and started blooming yet. So much to revel in! I also like Crazy Kate here, named after a neighbor at Judy's winter place. As I recall, Spoken in Parables has not gotten good reviews here from some northern locations. Your lilium is outstanding--yes, with all the daylily names, one often loses track of other plant varieties.

Your heat index might be fierce, but your daylilies are thriving. What a gorgeous post! I am glad you are enjoying Hell on Heals. Amethyst Tears and Pink Tarantula are two of my favorites. That is a gorgeous shot of Orchid Majesty! I love the lily too.

Our heat has moderated some so we had had two pretty nice days. The heat is coming back though. Try to stay cool!

I am at 103 heat index this afternoon and I am sure yours is there or more by now! Great blooms however. Pink Tarantula has been looking wonderful for you with all those blooms. Amethyst Tears looks good too. Mine is in a horrible tree shaded spot and blooms very little. Crazy Kate had its first bloom this week-thank you-I think I am going to like it as well. Orchid Majesty is pretty as are the others. Wonderful post of beautiful blooms! Stay cool!!

Thank you both, I am glad you think the lilies look good. Iwater the daylilies just about every day because it is so hot, but it is actually very humid as well. I read where Dan Trimmer said (years ago) water is the best fertilizer for daylilies so I bite the bullet and water them but I was later than I should have been to start this year. I also groom them and remove foliage that is ratty The sprinkler I use hits the grass behind the daylilies too it stays looking pretty good. I just pay extra as needed on the water bill in the summer. This is my hobby or my addiction, not sure which.

You are very right about losing names of others. the lilies have been here several years and they bloom just as the daylilies are slowing down a lot in their blooming. As you know, Mantis, I have bought a good many lilies after seeing them in your beautiful photos. Your photo of Playing with colors was just such an inspiration. And yes, I really liked Hell on Heels when Nancy posted it and begged a start from her. Spoken in Parables may well do better in the south as some do better in the north..at least if they are grown for northern gardens.

don't like that form but it blooms so often just like this with many blooms and I think it is pretty.

Thank you Kate. I knew you were cooking too and the next ten days are forecast the same...I suspect it will be October before we are really comfortable outside...Move that Amethyst Tears . It has been blooming like this for at least a week and probably 10 days. I am glad you like Crazy Kate. I think it is a beauty, and it is blooming well for a first year. I put out five bags of mulch before breakfast and did some needed grooming and will be back at that when it is a little later. Stay cool. (Hah! Fat chance)

Thank you, Sherry. You are right. PT had always bloomed beautifully, but last year was a down year for it. I am glad to see it blooming well again. Amethyst Tears is a vigorous bloomer. Kate gave it to me and it does really well.

Our heat index was at 105 (do I win the prize?), with the real temperature at 100. They say that we should get ready for more of the same for the next few weeks at least......Whatever the name of those lilies they sure are beauties. I don't grow them for various reasons, but like looking at others. They can have some really pretty markings as well as colors.........My favorite daylily is Orchid Majesty. Just Wow.....I like Spoken in Parables too and Hell on Heels sure is a stand out red...............Maryl

No favorite for me since I like them. Laura Harwood looks okay in your pic. Gorgeous clumps of blooms. Tahiti Sweetie is a trooper in the garden and should start blooming here in about another week. Your a good person to feed the feral cats. They are predicting storms to come thru here on Wednesday. We shall see if they are correct. Could use rain as the daylilies I transplanted are starting to show ratty foliage.

Amethyst Tears and Pink Tarantula are stunnning! I'm glad Reap the Whirllwind is doing well for you? Is it still short? I love the photo of Fighting Fire. It's such a reliable rebloomer. Others I like are Vanilla Gorilla and Orchid Majesty. The rest are lovely too!

Debra, Reap the Whirlwind is 28 to 30 inches tall. I never posted Amethyst Tears because it is such a different form and I feared no one would like it but I do and I am glad others do also.Fighting Fire is indeed a reliable rebloomer and a favorite. I have enjoyed Vanilla Gorilla because it took this long to really bloom but it has been excellent this year. Thanks you for your comments.
