If your kitchen and dining room are open to one another as many open floor plans are nowadays, then the fixtures should have similar finishes as the spaces read as one huge open room....
...but be careful of choosing too many pendants in adjacent areas - otherwise your home will take on the appearance of a lighting showroom!

If not, there's no need to match and you can hang as many different pendants/chandeliers as are appropriate for each space.
