Need your vote. Which one balances aesthetics and practicality better?

I am planning to buy a bookshelf for my 4y/o boy, here are the two I picked, he loves both of them and we can't make a final decision. If it were you which one would you choose? Please give me some advice.

Both are cute (if that’s your main objective), but might as well choose the bear, as its design will accommodate more books and the bottom of tree won’t hold much of anything.

Wanted to provide a recommendation though, if interested. My daughter-in-law has a background in early childhood education and chose a (Montessori) design with books facing out so their son can find/choose his favourites.

With your son being four, consider something that can accommodate more books (however they are stored) and be more practical for longer. To make it fun, add something above that suits his current interests.

Both are really cute but I think a teddy bear can't be beat even if it isn't fluffy.

The bear is too babyish for his age. Unless you don’t mind switching it out in a year or two.

Would you consider opting for more traditionally styled bookcases that you won't have to replace as your child gets a little older?

I voted for the bear shape one as from a practical point of view, it would be the easiest for him to replace books too. I have my grandkids ( a selection of books) in a basket which they love and always return the books, or take the basket and sit with them -it works ( they are 4-6 yrs of age) .

Hi Xu! The bear is BOY-ADORABLE! Oh my goodness lol! Momof5x is right, you need a few baskets! Right now toys, and PERFECT for the Winnie the Poo books next year! 🐻🐝🍯❤️!
