I am def a less is more girl, but I would replace the small plant that is squished in the corner with a healthy, nice sized live tree and call it a day (there is no good way to end wallpaper so I would not do that) - letting the eye rest is a good thing

I often suggest a painted accent wall to make a TV disappear, but your have a lovely patterned credenza, so I don't think you need an accent wall. I would remove the lamp and objects on the credenza and get a large, dramatic live plant by the window.

Could you provide a photo standing near the sofa facing the windows? Perhaps you could move the dark chair to face the window and just have a clean wall showcasing the crdenza and a dramatic plant.

Can you share more pictures of the space, including one that shows the large opening to the right of the wall?

Normally, people-level decor makes a room look finished. And you've ticked the boxes - plant, lamp, etc. In the photo, it looks like that opening might be throwing things off.

Perhaps a big piece of art that can be seen through the opening might make the TV area look less bare. But, it's hard to tell from the photo.

Is this a real plant? if not, consider replacing it with one.

@all Not home but added some older photos to show the space. It’s a real plant, it’s next to the slider that will be open when we complete our pool and cage. It’s kind of floofy (but not toxic to cats) so I may have to move it.

I think that your room would look better if the walls were painted a color, perhaps the lightest green from the pillows (or even lighter).

Based on the size of the room, I'd opt for a larger screen TV for that wall.

Select a tall narrow tropical plant and place a rechargeable cordless puck light in the base to provide some up lighting for the plant.

@beverlyfladeziner I like that tall plant with the up light. With that tall trunk the cats probably can’t get to the leaves.

Slatwalls are gonna look dated quickly. If you do decide on such a treatment I might suggest that you use the same pattern and perhaps the same colors as your tv cabinet. That might make a more cohesive statement than doing a idfferent pattern of slatting.

No slat wall. If you feel you "have" to do something, then paint the wall a dark gray. Usually accent walls look best if walls don't have door openings, which yours does. Here's how yours could potentially look:. However, your space will be a lot darker since the light walls bounce off the light coming in through the windows. I like la la girl's idea of a much larger plant in that corner and call it a day.

Do you have another place to put the palm? It's too wide for that corner and doesn't look good tied together imo. I'd put a floor lamp in the corner and move the cabinet to the left a bit. Remove the lamp from the cabinet. I think it will get too busy with a slat wall. If you feel it needs something, the only thing I would consider is an accent wall.

Paint the wall dark, either dark blue/green, green, almost black or dark gray. Replace your white ceiling fan with a large accent ceiling light that offsets the dark color. Like this
