I'm looking into using antartide quartzite for my countertop. Do you know how this type of stone holds up to everyday stains? Thank you.

Yes, I bought it! They are holding it until the kitchen is finished..It is absolutely beautiful! I never thought I would say I love it better than marble but I do and I LOVE marble..This looks like ice crystals with swirls of gray and very, very light touches of light green..You really can't see the green unless you get up really close..From far away it just looks white with gray swirls..I'm so happy with it..I decided to go with 50% Revere Pewter for the paint so it would bring the gray out..It's also very hard to stain..I threw everything at it and the only thing that stained was red wine but the stone was unsealed..I actually was able to get it out with peroxide..It was resined so it already has protection from stains..

Quartzite, in general is a very hard and durable material - generally a very good choice for kitchen countertops. I would recommend addressing this question to the supplier of the material specifically - as they should know the properties of your exact choice.

The Antartide holds up as well as any marble/onyx would. We have found that it can scratch easier than some quartzites and granites but have not had issues with staining. A little bit more care than granite, but overall a beautiful look.
