Undermounting a top mount porcelain sink

Has anyone ever installed a top mount sink as an undermount? Contractor is confident he can, just wondering if the hive mind has any suggestions? Sink in question below.

The sink is a new old stock sink from the 60s or 70s, LOL. I got it for a song a few years ago, planning a laundry room. That didn't work out so it will now go in my new kitchen! I too love it. There will be lots of photos!

I'd totally topmount that, so it could shine and be the focal point. Undermounting it is not going to give near the same effect.
