Not sure where to put tv

I need to refresh my family room but really don't know what to do with the TV. I love the look of built-ins or shelves around the fireplace, but I’m reluctant to put the TV above the fireplace because I think it would be very uncomfortable to view from the side wall where the couch is.

I thought of building the TV into the sides of the fireplace (built-ins) but the wall space isn't

really wide enough for the tv.

The TV has to stay… we already have another formal living room without one, but this is our family movie night room.

Any suggestions?

IMO get blackout drapes and place the TV on the wall across from the windows sofa in front of the windows you can even do a nice low cabinet with some storage under the TV but make sure the center of the screen is at eye level whaen you are seated.

in keeping the FP as your focal point, I would mount the TV on the window wall, bring the furniture closer in to create a comfortable space.

Get a smaller TV and place it to the side of the fireplace.

Give us a detailed floor plan of the room with indication of where each door leads. I assume that that is a sliding glass door that you really can't block, the door part at least. Is the railing attached to stairs?

You could mount TV vertically and then view horizontally with the right bracket

on a side note a nice big ottoman would help fill the room, can you bring the chair in closer to create a cozier layout?

Putting the TV and console flat beside the fireplace, or flat next to the sliders, would be the preferred place it looks like. However, you might want to mount the TV on an articulating arm so you can pull it on and off the wall and turn it how you'd like.

Can the TV be mounted on the wall where it currently is? Then adjust the TV (facing where you are sitting) once mounted.
