If you love these lights then get a different electrician to rewire the one so it can be brought down to the correct height. A lamp repair shop can also do this and quite honestly you could by buying a light kit. I think your electrician was maybe being lazy. It needs to be rewired not spliced. This would be a less costly option than getting two new lights. Lighting manufacturers will not return lighting once it has been installed.

Question what is the third light fixture with the glass globes for? Does that area hold a table? If so you need to have that lowered as well it is too high to be sitting over a table.
