How about the same white as the window trim.

That's a lot of wood in the room for the decor style. Have you ever considered perhaps painting the ceiling? Below are my illustrated suggestions... You can also place an area rug in the sofa area.

I would either do the same white as your trim or go with a green and add an area carpet to break up the brown.

I would paint it turquoise...or celery....would be a cool focal point in the room.

Liked the addition of white elements in lisedv visualisation. It works wonders, even without a white ceiling.

Your room reminds me of Sea Ranch in Sonoma County CA.

I think these are helped by lighter floors or light rugs on the floors and lighter furniture used with colors that are not earthtone.

I think it would also help if you made the fireplace mantle less traditional. It would be better very plain without the panel or fluted details

I agree! I don’t like the shape of the mantel, I will likely replace it eventually for something less traditional. In the meantime I’ll paint it as it’s an improvement !
