Sorry those are neither minimal or proper amount of light for a kitchen. Iland lighting needs to light the island since that is task light . This is a minimal pendant not view blocking at all 6000K LED very bright but look for single LED pendants with 4000K bulbs if this is too bright These are dimmable, slanted ceiling adaptable too. Google single pendant LED lighting and there are litereally 1000s better than what you show.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I like the coastal/shell design. I will look for something else. I don't want glass that is constantly dusty and wanting to be cleaned!

An 8" island only needs two pendants if they are the right ones.

Unless you are seven feet tall? Nothing will block the water view. Pendant hang is not less than 6' from the FLOOR and 36" from top of counter to the bottom of the light fixture..

I do know that these lights are intended (maybe wrongly) for more than a bedroom or bath, though I agree sizing is perfect for that if you are using one pendant. Love your second choice, in the 18” size. You only need two on an 8ft island as 18-24 is what’s usually recommended. I’d only buy lighting that can be retuned and in case they don’t feel right when kitchen/island is complete, maybe note return policy.
