How would adding railings significantly minimize the view?

I'd be more worried about people (and pets) falling off the stairs with no railing while they're looking at the view.

valid point 😂 we just wanted minimal interruption to the view from the inside - since the railings would be at eye level with the couch etc. would you pivot and do railings?

How about a picture of the house where the deck is going?

Would it work to compromise and do the steps off the front of dining room and horizontal wire railings elsewhere ?

I like stadium stairs but this seems like too much. I would look at some variation of this- eliminating the center section of stairs greatly enlarges the upper deck and gives a back to the seating area by the pool which will make it feel larger (we gravitate toward walls / edges) The railings could be glass or iron which are both pretty transparent.

ahhhh i see what your saying - i just worry we are over building this tiny house and have more outside space than inside. but i see what you’re saying!!

More to the point is some sketches or drawings of the back of the house and how this will look . The deck you have now is not helping with how what you are planning will look . Are you removing the pool ? I trully have no clue what you are doing I have 2200 sq ft of deck attached to a main floor that is 1700 sq ft no issue for me we use the deck a lot and the pool You do not even show us pics from inside showing the view ,.

thanks patricia. the pool is staying. the house is small but the lot is big so we could add more square footage to the house in the future. i’ve added a schematic of the drawings and some pics from the inside looking out.

Rather than a raised deck, have you considered stepping down when you exit the house to an extended patio at pool level? One benefit is that your view from inside the house won’t be obstructed by furniture, people, etc. on the raised deck.

sadly we have 4 doors that step to no where… so a deck makes the most sense. also since the house is small we were hoping to create different outdoor areas to create some separation

Stair coming out from that house will not work there is not enough space to do a proper set of stairs so why not just make that deck go right to the house all one level and actually useable stadium stairs are totally the wronf choice if some uesful area is wanted .

patricia - i don’t understand your comment? the deck comes off the house 12’ with stairs down to the pool?

You men that small set of steps on the left side ? Where are those doors you speak of I see a big space behind the kids on the loungers that space IMO could be agreat patio no problem with the view .
