Define what "modern touch" mean to you?

I would get rid of the sectional and plain rug. Go with a sofa and 2 chairs and an interesting oriental type rug.

I would consider moving the television unit to the wall with the stairs. You can then position a sofa and two chairs to take advantage of the nice green views from your windows, but also see the television.

I agree with @Celery. Visualization, Rendering images. You have a great layout in your Idea book. Suggest you add some artwork or mirror over the table near the stairs. The furniture in the idea book layout would look great in this room in place of the sectional. Suggesting that you get rid of The wood privacy screen, at least in this room. Perhaps it can go somewhere else. MAE
