It would help to see the entire room - all 4 walls. Also draw a floor plan marking windows and doorways and all measurements.

I would not place the TV on that wall. Could you show us the rest of the room?

A big sectional is cozy and nice to watch TV. I'm not saying use these shelves but something would be nice. An ottoman for a coffee table. A side chair/easy chair in place of the window seat.

It seems the sectional in this inspo would be reversed for your room...

The wall with the panels (frames on the floor) is the wall we walk into from the main entrance. And to the left is the living room / family room. It also connects to the dining room. Very small house/ everything is kind of connecting.

What do you do in this room besides watch tv? Entertain guests? Read? Use a laptop/ipad? Snuggle on the couch or sleep in a recliner? Watch the kids play?

What’s the approximate size of the room? How many people live here? Do you have little ones and their toys that hang out here?

Everything you mentioned basically.. we are four (2 adults 2 toddlers.

We’ve thought of turning the sections around but it will really close up that space . We like the open “flowyness” of it with the section on the wall.

You must show all four sides of a space so Commentors can present alternative options. Here is one of them now that you've shared other photos:

Float your sofa to face the opposite wall. Add a console table behind it for keys, mail, lamp, etc. The edge of the console table/cabinet should line up with edge of window. This is absolutely the way to go. By floating your sofa, you will create an entryway for your "flowiness" and a cozy space for TV watching, laptop, etc. This is what everyone is suggesting. Did you post your question to get approval? If so, Houzz experts probably won't agree that putting a TV in an entryway is a good idea. Sorry. There are hundreds of layout photos like those below in Houzz and other design sites. This layout provides a "foyer" where there is none.

Also, with two toddlers, you can put a sofa console cabinet or sofa level bookcase behind the sofa at the entryway for stowing their toys.

it seems your only choices are to put the sectional on the window wall and tv across from it or flip it from where it is now (not against the wall, pulled away to make a walkway as you come in the front door) and put the tv on the wall where your sectional is currently.

Another vote for TV on current sectional wall. TV on an entry wall is for narrow rooms where it's the only solution. Plus, you can make a cozier seating/conversational area in the room that way, and block the draft from the front door.

If you really don't want to turn the sectional, you could move it forward to lineit up with the window. It would allow for toy storage behind. When my kids were young I had a narrow area behind a couch with a desk and toy storage - it meant my living room could be come an adult zone in the evenings.

Try placing the sectional, on the rug you already have, but instead of having the sectional against the wall, float it facing the wall it is currently on. Then place a TV/console on the wall where the sectional currently is.
