Your front door elevation is only a few inches from the ground so it will be more of a patio than a porch.

A few things you have to consider if you span the patio the entire length of the house you will lose lots of natural daylight and looking a the picture, it looks like the front already has lots of shade so adding a roof will make rooms even darker.

I did a design for someone a while back, just to give you an idea, it was a similar situation where the door was a few inches from the ground so a simple paver patio and nice landscaping around it will make a big difference
