Where is the family room in relation to this living room?

Will this be a formal or more casual space? Will you watch tv? Can you put the length and width of the living room on the floorplan please, in feet.

@ShadyWillowFarm it is 21 feet by 13 feet. it will be more of a casual space.

I missed the question earlier but we are a family of 5.

I'd skip the console under a 77" tv and create a family lounging sectional opposite.

Add a large ottoman or match the chaise on the left with one on the right end of this type of sectional. This is an overpriced Restoration Hardware product using Chinese components. The point is to get the use nailed down with the best choices. Then do the best you can with placement.

A apartment sized sectional might work, but you could do an easier layout and change things up more with a sofa and two chairs. Two different ideas are included below:
