Design furnishings needed

Hi there.

i would appreciate some help in furnishing a basement living space. Just purchased Sterns and Foster sleeper sofa

I’ve included pictures of the couch in the basement space (excuse the black bins they will not be there) The couch color is cooler than I would’ve preferred unfortunately.

I’m looking for ideas on how to design the space:

1) rug

2) additional seating (another chair or a couple of ottomans?)

3) coffee table/end table?

4) anything else you think I need to finish the space up.

It will be used for kids to hang out with friends so seating and place to put drinks/snacks on is needed.

The wall color is BM Revere Pewter. I pref warm grays, soft whites, transitional style.

IMO a the TV on that wall right of the FP would have been much better . I would get a rug for sure maybe even a shag for a bit of texture in the space . Yes we need a to scale plan . Posted here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post

If you add ottomans, they will expand lounging options and can work for snacks with a tray.

Maybe something like this? (Not enough info to know if this would work.) Ottomans can be extra seating for a crowd, console table behind sofa for snacks buffet, computer station for gaming?

Thank gou all for your help!!! it is much appreciated. apologies for the delay in posting/responding. Project was put on hold briefly.

the measuements are included. please excuse my drawing not being to scale. my biggest struggle I‘m finding is the size and shape for a rug. i had put in a 5x8 rug based on another drawing but it didnt look right.

the couch can move closer to the wall or further back into the play area if needed (just noticing the play are is very off scale its much smaller than the drwing but enought ro move couch a little back) but i cant angle it in front of the tv because of the area behind it.

It’s important to have finalized the seating and layout, as rug’s size is really dependant on this. I think the diagram simplynatural provided is a good choice (if space allows) but hold off until everything is in place and measure. The style/color of the chairs/art/accessories should be taken into consideration; you mentioned warm greys/soft whites, but with this being a highly used kids space, consider some darker shades that are more practical food and drink wise, as well as feeling cozier.
